Calculating the risk factor
When an inventor decides to move forward with a given invention it is necessary to honestly and intelligently assess its value prior to committing significant resources. Most inventors are personally convinced that they have developed a product that the market will be thirsting for. However, it is wise to remember that there is no such thing as a "sure thing" when it comes to inventions.
Clearly,
there is a level of risk involved in moving forward. Your time, money, effort,
and energy may all be wasted. Or, they may all be rewarded. One must commit themselves to an intelligent plan to discover the outcome.
Taking the right steps at the right time can make the difference between success and failure. Having a good idea alone is simply not enough. It must be complemented by the right combination of strategic risk and action.
